Volunteer Opportunity: Join Our Board of Directors
CommStar Credit Union’s Board of Directors is seeking applicants to immediately fill an Associate Board Member position. One of the biggest and most important differences between a Credit Union and a bank is who helps steer our institution. For Credit Unions, it’s a volunteer Board of Directors, not paid trustees. The Board shapes the policies and directions for CommStar’s future service of its members and communities. The Associate Board Member position is an excellent option for leaders who are interested in joining a Board of Directors to gain experience and determine if serving as a full Board member in the future is right for them. This is a non-voting, volunteer position.
Commitment:
-3 Year Term (current term expires in 2025)
-Must be able to meet at minimum one evening per month (typically the third Thursday of each month), plus at least one strategic planning session per year
-Must complete annual regulatory training
Requirements:
-Must be a primary member of CommStar Credit Union for at least one year and in good standing to qualify
